Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and oversee the daily operations of our electrical and mechanical direct labor teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production schedules are met, maintaining safety standards, and managing employee performance and development. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
This position requires flexibility to work varying shifts, including occasional weekends and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Oversight:
- Supervise and coordinate electrical and mechanical direct labor teams to ensure production schedules are met.
- Monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively to achieve operational goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
2. Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA and company-specific safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among employees.
3. Employee Management:
- Oversee employee performance, provide coaching and mentorship, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Identify training and development needs and support employees in skill-building initiatives.
4. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance production processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track and report on key performance metrics, including productivity, quality, and safety.
5. Administrative Duties:
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of attendance, production data, and safety incidents.
- Participate in planning and strategy meetings to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members as needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Prior experience with electrical panel wiring, PLC wiring, harness manufacturing, electrification panel wiring.
- Prior experience with mechanical assembly processes, methods and tooling (motor gearbox assembly, linear guide assembly, aluminum extrusion assembly, pneumatic assembly.
- Proven experience with safety management and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Lean manufacturing knowledge.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions include a Production Facility and include office environment.
