iAutomation, a high technology distributor of industrial automation components, has an immediate opening for a Project Manager in Franklin, Massachusetts. iAutomation’s product offering includes machine control, motion control, sensing and vision, safety systems, mechanical components and stages. We offer engineered systems and services to provide OEM and end user customers a complete automation solution.
Description
- Facilitate collaboration between customers, sales, engineering, purchasing, production andfield technical resources
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of a project such as scope, scheduling and budget
- Plan, review and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work including quoting, designand change management
- Facilitate Kick-Off, Design Review, Status Update and Wrap Up meetings with in house andremote team members
- Review daily, weekly and monthly order status for managed accounts and complete quarterlyreview for same accounts
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, sales, engineering and production resources
- Conduct post-project evaluations, identifying successes, challenges, and areas for improvementfor future projects
- Identify potential risks and challenges to the production process and develop strategies tomitigate them
- Manage consistent product documentation, archiving and approval from all resources
- Continuously identify, measure and improve processes
- Collaborate with the quality control team to integrate quality checks throughout the incoming inspection and production processes, as well as RMA processing
- Coordinate customer audits on-site and at remote locations as needed
- Implement corrective actions when necessary
- Develop and manage customer relations
- Utilize project management tools
- Ability to multi-task and maintain complex projects at one time
- Schedule and coordinate material ordering and arrival dates with procurement and shipping
- Provide forecasts to supply chain team for long lead time purchased items and for items withhigh fallout percentages
- Implement and maintain Kanban methodology to optimize material planning, workflow,efficiency and product availability for the end customer
- Track project progress using Kanban metrics (e.g., cycle time, lead time, work in progress)
- Mentor entry-level and junior Project Managers
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in an Analytical or Technical field
- 3+ years’ of Project Management experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Sitting for long periods of time. Long hours of computer work. Some car and air travel required.
- Typical office environment. Occasional visits to a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
