iAutomation, a high technology distributor of industrial automation components, has an immediate opening for an Assembly Technician I (Cables) in Franklin, Massachusetts. iAutomation’s product offering includes machine control, motion control, sensing and vision, safety systems, mechanical components and stages. We offer engineered systems and services to provide OEM and end user customers a complete automation solution.
Job Description
- Mechanical assembly of extrusion frames.
- Minimal electro-mechanical assembly using proper grounding techniques.
- Soldering application, custom cable terminations
- Following work instructions, perform repetitive assembly operations.
- Produce quality work to specified time standards.
- Execute in-process checks using visual inspection and check lists.
- Possess an aptitude for cross functional training to reduce takt time.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools such as screw drivers, hex keys, drills, saws, tape measures and fixtures.
- Coordinating with teammates participate in manually integrating large subassemblies to complete a final assembly.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Education or GED
- Some manufacturing experienced desired
- Basic print reading and experience in wire dressing and termination
- Proficient in reading and measuring using a tape measure
- Operate hand pallet jacks to move material within plant
- Able to lift, squat, bend, reach, and stand as work requires.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Frequent use of hand tools. Long periods of standing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses and safety shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
